Atrocity of this level is a weapon which will explode in the hands of Russia. I doubt any Ukrainian will ever surrender again, and will have one thought only in mind, take as many of the enemy with them as possible. It has reinforced the determination to win, and get to the war crimes trials, and has demonstrated to the world that this is not an enemy with whom you can negotiate, and that only total victory is possible. And total victory must prevail to prevent any other tin-pot dictator feeling that naked violence is a way to enforce will on the 'effete' western governments, since these people do not understand that willingness to negotiate is a sign of being civilised, not of being effete. And the western governments are finally waking up to the concept that there are people who are not civilised, and who prefer naked force over negotiations [well, it's only taken them 75 years since ignoring Hitler taking Czechoslovakia, but hey, you don't need the smarts to be in politics, only a voice that can shatter glass and burn paper.]

Russians don’t seem to understand that rather than intimidating Ukraininans with barbarism, they simply strengthen the Ukrainian ferocious resolve to never give in and never give up.
